Live!

Long ago in a land far away there was no such thing as a digital recording. Everything was analog, meaning the music was laid down on magnetic tape. Like vinyl, tapes are no more. However, in the days before digital, we made do with what we had.

Over my years of singing in bars and nightclubs I acquired tapes of my live performances made by others and later shared with me. The tape recorder would be placed somewhere in the room and manually started and stopped. The ambient noise of conversation, the clink of bottles and glasses sometime cover the singing, but it is a record of the day and time in my life.

My intention is to share some of this music with those who care to listen after all these years. The first is from The Academy in Los Angeles one night in 1987. My old friend and accompanist Michael Reno was back again with me.
